The aim of this project was to create unity by repeating just a few basic elements. In this case, those would be an image of a mountain colored and used in the background, and an image of a tree used for the black and white elements. The piece as a whole represents the colors of the Thai Flag, and the spiral design represents a the patterning of a Thai blessing tattoo. I chose to represent these things using facets of nature because everything that my Thai stepfather has told me about Thailand makes it seem much more peaceful and connected to nature there, opposed to the United States.
